Music is a very personal matter and my favorite worship music style could be described as 'epic' music, for the lack of a better word. Probably due to my 'heavy metal' background, soft music will not sit well in my ears. Language is also an important aspect. Worship music in Portuguese does not work with me, no idea why. It feels just awkward and weird, although it's my mother tongue. Whenever possible, I look for artists who sing in Hebrew or at least partially.
Here are some of my choices of music when I wish to think about the Father and our Savior (which is every day ;))
1) Paul Wilbur - Levantate Jerusalen: Grandiose live record in Jerusalem. Paul is a sweet grandpa and I love his voice combined with his amazing backing vocal team. I like all his albums, but this one is my favorite.
2) Joshua Aaron - Live in the Tower of David: Joshua is a Messianic Jewish musician. Messianic Jew, unlike the orthodoxic Jew, believes that Yahusha (Jesus) is the Messiah. I love this record, it's light rock with elements of reggae and Hebrew music.
3) Karen Davis - Sar Shalom: This is a softer Messianic music, but I love her voice and she sings in Hebrew and English. Great stuff! from this album I specially like Kuma Adonai (Arise, Lord)
4) Moshav Band - Return again: great album, make sure you check 'Shabbos Kodesh'
How about you? any suggestions to enrich this list?
